Stuart Gordon
Stuart Gordon was a filmmaker and screenwriter who blended horror, science fiction, and dark comedy. Born in Chicago in 1947, Gordon initially pursued a career in theater in the 1970s founding the Organic Theater Company. He broke into the film world in the 1980s, directing two adaptations of H.P. Lovecraft in the horror comedy films Re-Animator (1985) and From Beyond (1986). Gordon continued to direct horror and science fiction movies into the 1990s. He passed away in 2020 and left behind several genre films that are now considered cult classics. Many of his films are available to stream online and we've featured them here.
