Ken Loach
Ken Loach is a British filmmaker renowned for his socially conscious films that explore the lives of working-class people. Born in England in 1936, Loach attended Oxford University and later worked as a director for the BBC. He began his feature film career in the 1960s with realist films such as Poor Cow (1967) and his acclaimed film Kes (1969), which established his reputation for depicting the struggles of the British working class. Loach has been recognized with numerous awards for his work, including two Palme d'Or Awards at the Cannes Film Festival for The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006) and I, Daniel Blake (2016). He remains committed to his mission of using film as a tool for social justice, and he is a voice of conscience in an industry that often prioritizes commercial success over social relevance.
