Movie Description
Rio Grande is a 1950 Western film directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. It is the third film in Ford's "cavalry trilogy," following Fort Apache (1948) and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949). The story follows Lieutenant Colonel Kirby Yorke (Wayne), a rugged Cavalry officer stationed on the Rio Grande frontier in Texas. He must balance his duties when his estranged son Jeff (Claude Jarman Jr.) enlists under his command, and his estranged wife Kathleen (O'Hara) arrives to take their son home. Yorke also has to deal with threats from Apache warriors.
