Movie Description
Johnny Guitar is a 1954 American Trucolor western drama film directed by Nicholas Ray starring Joan Crawford, Sterling Hayden, Mercedes McCambridge, and Scott Brady. The screenplay was adapted from a novel by Roy Chanslor. Ben Maddow claimed he wrote the script, and most film critics wouldn't believe that Philip Yordan was the real author until Maddow himself, after seeing the film, claimed he did not write the script. Philip Yordan rewrote the script on location.
In 2008, Johnny Guitar was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
