Movie Description
Goya's Ghosts is a 2006 historical drama directed by Milos Forman. Set in the late 18th century, the film intertwines the life of famed Spanish painter Francisco Goya (Stellan Skarsgard) with the tumultuous political and religious changes of the era. When Goya's young muse, Inés (Natalie Portman), is unjustly accused of heresy by a zealous monk named Brother Lorenzo (Javier Bardem), she becomes ensnared in the horrors of the Spanish Inquisition. The film features actual Goya paintings. It lost money at the box office and was received lukewarmly by critics.
